The Hamilton County Storm Water District (District) has been established to comply with the provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act as mandated under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II storm water permitting program. The District is authorized to discharge to surface waters of the state in accordance with conditions specified in the Ohio EPA NPDES Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s) general permit.

The co-permittee District consists of all 12 townships and 23 municipalities in Hamilton County designated by Ohio EPA as regulated small MS4s through their automatic nationwide designation as an urbanized area based on the latest Census.
